Yaho! Another behind-the-scenes update by yours truly… Myokii’s the name, just in case you don’t know.

Today we had an interesting shoot. We had the privilege of filming renowned DJ James Zabiela working his stuff on Pioneer’s latest DJ Mixer and player- the DJM-2000 and the CDJ-2000.

5 people and a lot of camera equipment squeezed into a hotel room somewhere in Singapore. To give you a general idea, this was how it looked like in the room…

Plus me, and 2 other lights, and other equipment of course. But James performed brilliantly nonetheless despite the space constraint. Professional indeed!

He was way cool when he was strutting his stuff.

The shoot was unlike our usual, cos we shot almost everything continuously with very few cuts. James was a brilliant talker, very smooth in his introduction of the machines he was using. It was amazing watching him work his beats, throwing in a funky combination of 8th beats and 16th beats, adding in uber cool effects. He was just amazing. And he was so relaxed on his instrument it was captivating.

Pioneer’s preparing for a launch for the DJM soon, so keep a lookout for that!
