Behind-the-scenes: Bossini MV Shoot
27 & 28 February 2010
YAHO! It’s Myokii again, with more updates on the projects that Emoxis LLP’s working on. Today I bring you…. Bossini!
Bossini will be launching their new collection. And this season, they’re opting for a fresh new way to kick off the season – with a promotional music video! *waves banners in the air!*
I was crazy excited to go for this particular shoot. After all, it was a MUSIC VIDEO SHOOT for crying out loud!!!
I was excited to see a bunch of lively animated dancers;
A bright, pretty and smiley Singapore artiste Kelly Poon with her million-dollar smile;
All clad in bright and funky Bossini apparel dancing to the cheery happy jingle “Be Happy”.
I love this – the designated wardrobe of the dancers and Kelly. It feels like the movies! Try and match which outfit is worn by who!
The set was amazing too – white; with Bossini logos of different sizes as the backdrop.
The stage picture was really pretty – colourful dancing people against a classy white background – simply perfect
I really liked how the Bossini clothes looked in the video! I loved how the bright colours stood out from each other, and yet they didn’t clash. They came together like a pretty collage of colours.
The choreography was excellent as well! Cheers to Andee the awesome choreographer! He’s the guy in blue and a cap kneeling next to Kelly doing the Peace sign. The choreo went really well with the song, and the dancers and Kelly really worked it man… It was DOPE!
I had the great privilege of documenting the process
Watching “making-of” videos at home versus documenting it live was a world of a difference man. I was stoked! It’s truly what viewers of the final product don’t usually get to see. The deceivingly simple 2 minute video took a full day to complete shooting, rendering everyone exhausted. Not counting the filming of the instructional video the next day. I take my hat off the cast and crew, really.
I loved the “rawness” of the whole setting.
The crew, the lights, the camera;
The cameraman setting up the camera;
The crane, the crew, the “director’s seat”, the cast,
The choreographer standing by the side dancing along,
The producer getting everyone into place, the director rushing the producer into getting everyone into place… Ok in this case, our producer Hon Choo was very enthusiastic about learning the dance. Haha! This is Be Happy’s signature move! Learn it!
The stylist and makeup artist working their magic on the cast. And running in between takes touching up their makeup, the blasting music, etc… Simply ecstatic! I loved everyone’s sudden bursts of energy when the camera started to roll and the immediate “CUT!” mode when everyone went back to normal.
The dancers and Kelly really worked hard. It was sweltering under those lights and I was sure their makeup was melting, but they still continued to give that wide “Be Happy” smile and danced with all they were worth for every take. One of the dancers even whipped out a fan to cool himself down while the stylist was touching up Kelly’s makeup. It was inspiring to see everyone work hard together.
Despite the exhaustion and heat, the dancers still played with my camera.
There was this particular part in the choreo where the dancers and Kelly just went high and started laughing and cheering and the atmosphere was just amazing. They were really having loads of fun enjoying themselves.
The people having fun were not just the cast I reckon. The gorgeous ladies from Bossini had their fair share of fun and dancing as well! Andee the choreographer was teaching them the dance moves to the song, and they were learning intently. I’m glad everyone had fun. Indeed like the song says, Be Happy!
BE HAPPY!!!! The Bossini ladies, Kelly Poon, the dancers, and us from Emoxis, all gathered for a photo together. Oosh! The filming for the Music Video and the Instructional Video’s done! KAMPAI!!!
Good job, everyone!
Kelly Poon shares her experience!
