Valentine’s day is round the corner and love is in the air!

Pond’s wants to celebrate and as part of their Facebook campaign, we are tasked with a video to invite everyone to share their greatest acts of love.

This is our last week on the 12th floor… new address will be 190 Middle Fortune Centre #10-05 Singapore 188979, starting from 27 October.

Yes, we are still in the building, just a bigger office on a different floor.

This is the last week that we will be enjoying this fantastic view …

We did the shoot in two days using the RED cam – yippee! The first day was at StarHub, filming the happy family, and the second day in a blue-screen studio, filming our Hub Trooper – Brandon Fernandez.

Here’s our first day shoot at the mock-up home in StarHub

There was little we needed to do-up in this mock-up home… except for the curtains …

We think white looks better, so we changed them… and pinned up the six pieces of curtains bit by bit with safety pins…kudos to intern yan wei for her creativity.
This was back breaking work, carried out entirely by her (and yes, she had to take them down and put back the old curtains after the shoot… sigh.. it is tough being an intern…)

It was a mad rush for time… we had a lot of set-ups. Thankfully, we had an amazing cast and crew.

Cassandra (aka Mother) was the last of the talents we filmed. She stuck it through for us – rest of the cast finished their shots earlier and were home for dinner.

We finally finished the shoot at nine plus and i had never been happier to see my fish-fillet!

We thought the second day would be easier, but it was another rush for time as there were so many lines to shoot. But i can’t complain… Brandon got it the hardest and kudos to him for pulling it off.. there was no teleprompter and the scripts were so fresh he was delivering them from memorizing on the spot! Amazing!

Scripts were given to him at makeup time… and delivery of his lines expected minutes after…

Everyone was happy when we called it a day, but of course, the hardest part of the work is yet to come for us. We went into POST!!!.

26 March 2011 – There was a special buzzing going on in Hong Lim Park Speakers Corner that evening at 7.30pm, and it was not your usual Speakers Corner activity. Slowly but surely, a crowd of about 80 Japanese and Singaporean folks came down to the park for Cheer Up! Japan – a commemorative event to pray for Japan, regardless of religion. Write a simple message for Japan, take a picture with it, and hold a candle light and pray for Japan, that was the agenda for the night. Sweet and simple.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing though, we did not manage to obtain a permit from the police to hold the event at the Merlion Park so we had to have a last-minute venue change to Hong Lim Park, but amazingly that did not affect the turnout. We were blessed with a tranquil place and excellent weather. It was fantastic and extremely heartwarming.

The sight of  coming together to do something simple yet significant to show Japan that Singapore cared was priceless. Some families and older folks came – both Japanese and Singaporean.

The above pictures and many more of the like will be compiled into a photo collage video and sent to Japan, various news platforms, uploaded on Microsoft’s emergency web servers for viewing in various towns in Japan, as well as video streaming sites like YouTube, uStream and Nico Nico Douga. This is to encourage Japan that the world is standing alongside them in this time of trial.

“Cheer Up! Japan was about passing on the spirit of blessing and prayer in whatever religion. Singapore has already given substantial monetary donations, the very least we can do now as a country is to just hold Japan’s hands and pass on the spirit and well wishes and let them know that we are with them in spirit and in truth”, said Mark Sun, one of the organizers of the event.

This is a gesture to show Singapore’s genuine care and concern for Japan. I have faith in Japan that they will rise up out of this hard-pressing trial. And this has also shown me that Singaporeans do care. It has shown me a side of Singaporeans that we are not all that used to. And I’m proud to say that I’m Singaporean and I am part of a community of people who care. Singapore cares for Japan.

It was an intricate piece of theatre, beautifully crafted, infusing technology with theatre and dance. Very splendid piece of theatre indeed. And the multimedia backgrounds we did facilitated the atmosphere and mood of the piece.

The nutcracker clock! It looks really good on set. I wouldn’t have imagined that the amazing set and our multimedia would together to look THIS gorgeous!! and check out the performers, though it’s just a still photograph, you can totally feel their emotions and expressions! Way to go, PA Talents! You guys rock big time!

The thing about this PA Talents version of The Nutcracker is that it encompasses Singapore’s unique multi-racial and multi-cultural flavour and it captures its “Singaporean-ness” if there be such a word. The clock with footage of Singapore in it. Cool stuff right there.

And I have to say, I love their costumes and dancing! And if you look carefully, the cast is multi-racial! It really brings out the multi-ethic flavour of Singapore.

It was a fantastic show! Looking forward to more great stuff by PA Talents!

Deloitte was glad and very proud and honoured to be a part of YOG. This provides countless opportunities for youths in pursuing sporting excellence and it’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Singapore to be able to host the world’s very first Inaugural Youth Olympic Games. This plants a seed of positivity that will spur on youths to a brighter and better future.

The thing that stuck with me was how Deloitte was set on making YOG count in Singapore’s history as a milestone of Singapore’s road to success.They wanted to “leave behind a legacy”, like what Mr Chaly Mah, Chairman of Deloitte Singapore said. Deloitte held the Chairman’s Club Forum, a roundtable dialogue with ministers and business leaders to share ideas about challenges in the business community. They also participated in the sponsorship and development of the cool Youth Olympic Park!

They even participated in the Torch Relay! Mr Chaly Mah’s running with the torch!

I think it’s extremely meaningful to be part of this event because it’s not only a huge global event, it’s something that unites the nation into believing in something greater; getting everyone together to build a hope for the future. And like Mr Mah mentioned, Deloitte has a great pool of young working adults, and it was exceptionally meaningful for them to be part of the volunteers of the YOG.

Well, what is the YOG without the opening and closing ceremonies?? Yes! Deloitte had a huge part to play in them as well!

The pretty floating platform during the opening and closing ceremonies! Just from the crazy lights and stage and performances I can sense the awesome grandeur of the ceremonies. And this is definitely one milestone that every Singaporean can lift his/her head proudly and declare that Singapore hosted the world’s first Youth Olympic Games!

But all’s well that ends well, I wanna start by congratulating Australia’s Adam Scott for winning the Barclays Singapore Open for the third time on Monday and the jackpot prize of US$1 million, the biggest on the Asian Tour!! That is awesome stuff!!

It was great fun putting this piece of art together… The process of splicing everyone’s creative juices together and splitting the work, all the way to creating this promo element by element. Every detail had to be worked out, and very carefully layered and planned. Kudos to the creative team!
